BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide corresponding to a partial sequence of a protein found in human gastric juice. TB-500 corresponds to the actin-binding region of thymosin β4, a naturally occurring 43-amino-acid peptide.
Published work examines these compounds in models of angiogenesis, granulation-tissue formation, fibroblast migration, and tendon and ligament repair. The great majority of BPC-157 data is preclinical and rodent-derived; controlled human trials are limited.
On the evidence base. One of the references below is a 2025 narrative review that is explicitly critical of the BPC-157 evidence base. It is included deliberately — a reference list that only points one direction is marketing, not literature.
